Laborer
Our team specializes in the installation of underground utilities such as: Telecommunications, Electric, Water, and Sewer. Directional drilling although not a new concept, has seen strong growth over the last 10 years due to the increase in technology requiring an overwhelming demand for high speed internet. Our industry currently has a labor shortage of skilled drillers/operators and the unions have yet to establish a training program capable of producing capable/productive drillers. This has forced many companies to establish in house training programs to maintain and grow their Teams. Skilled drillers/operators can earn between $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year with project managers making between $75,000 to well over $100,000.00. We are currently searching for a self motivated, creative thinking, outgoing, and hard working individual to join our organization. This will be an entry level laborer position assigned to a Team that will train them on the fundamentals of directional drilling / utility installation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
This is an entry level position. Will be required to work 50 to 60 hours per work and a few weekends as determined by the project manager. Must be able to: plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively; work under pressure and time deadlines; analyze problems, propose reasonable solutions; make logical decisions, carry out decisions made; communicate effectively. You will be required to obtain a valid CDL (Class -A w/air brakes) driver's license within the first 90 days of employment (training programs and assistance will be available to complete this) which requires a good driving record.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed at the customer's job-site and cities across Missouri. Good dexterity a plus. Job requires lifting, bending, climbing, walking, repetitive hand motion, digging, ect.. Accurate visual depth perception. Work performed for this position is mostly outside & involves exposure to inclement weather, loud noise, active machinery, vibration & confined spaces. This is a fast paced work environment.
Equipment Operated:
Working knowledge of hand tools and various power tools.
